Things to Consider when Planning Your Destination Wedding & Honeymoon
Like most brides to be you probably have a vision in mind for your special day. Our Destination Wedding & Honeymoon Specialist is here to make sure your vision isn't just a fairytale. Each resort has it's own venues available for your wedding ceremony and prices do vary by resort not only for your Wedding Package but for the accommodations as well. Here are a few things to consider for your Big day.
-
Affordability - What is reasonable of you to ask of your guests? For many, travel is a big expense and one they haven't necessarily budgeted for. Make sure you aren't excluding guests just because you want the best resort. Keep in mind that peak travel dates carry premium price tags.
-
Destination Rules - Every country has it's own laws and rules when it comes to marriage. If you are thinking of a traditional, legal ceremony there are factors that will come into play and effect the dates you can legally be married there. Talk to a professional
-
Time of Year - Although financially it may make sense to plan your Destination Wedding during the offseason, there are reasons that travel is less expensive during those times. Weather, including hurricanes and rainy seasons is a huge factor and honestly, who wants rain on their wedding day?
-
Number of Guests - You will need to consider not only how many guests you'll be inviting but also how many may not be able to commit due to things like work, childcare (if choosing an adult only resort), and cost. Many wedding packages include up to a certain number of guests and fees if you go over can add up.
-
Must Haves - If you are particular about certain things, keep in mind; not all resorts are created equal. Some have great beaches, nightlife, entertainment and food while others may be lacking in one or more of these areas. Tell your agent about your must have list.
