Approximately 30mins from the Punta Cana airport lies this hidden gem. This may not be one of the more well known resort chains but that will change very soon. This 5 star resort actually lives up to it's credentials.

On checkin we were escorted to a semi-private checkin area and immediately given cooling towels, a refreshing juice drink and our bracelets which also double as your room key. No more lost room keys and having to wait at reception for a new one.

While enjoying our drinks, our Butler, Elvis introduced himself and we were quickly shown to our room.

Our room was a suite with oceanview and included a master bedroom with sliding doors to separate the living space from the bedroom area. The bath includes a full soaker tub, separate shower and his and hers sinks. In the main living space there is a second powder room, table and chairs, sitting area and a second tv.

While familiarizing ourselves with the resort, Elvis tracked us down again and we arranged our a la carte dinners for the week AND he also asked us what our choice of complimentary bottle was in our room. We opted for Baileys as it's nice with coffee after dinner. I really can't say enough about Elvis, he must have had 50 guests to deal with and remember at any given time and from day 1 he remembered our names and our room number.

Dining was actually quite good with my favourites being the Steakhouse and the Japanese hibachi. French and Italian restaurants were also good. Buffets for breakfast and lunch were better than expected and always something you liked including a Burger station, made to order pastas and more.

The nightlife was possibly a little lacking but they had some entertaining shows including a Michael Jackson tribute which was quite well done.

The resort shares some amenities with it's sister resorts (Elegance and Colonial) such as a small Casino, Disco and there is even an escape room on site ($).

The beach area for Mirage Club was actually very nice and there were lots of Bali beds and lounge chairs readily available throughout the day and the Mirage Club lounge was close by for towel exchanges, fresh juice/coffee and light snacks.

The main lobby bar was managed well and wait times were reasonable given the number of people at the resort.

Other notable amenities include onsite convenience store, resort shops, coffee shop and dive shop. Additional fees apply at all but the coffee shop.

Overall I tend to agree with the rating of this resort and would highly recommend it to my clients.
